# Public Sharing & Export

Share individual note snapshots with others via public links, and export your notebook collection.

## Creating a Public Share Link

1. Open the note you want to share.
2. Click **Share** in the top action menu.
3. Configure settings, such as link expiration dates or whether to allow HTML/Markdown downloads.
4. Click **Publish Note**.
5. Copy the secure public URL (e.g., `https://basaltnotes.com/share/abc-123`) to share with others.

*Note: Public shares are snapshots. Changes you make to your local note are not visible online until you click **Update Share**.*

## Exporting Your Vault

- Go to **Settings -> Import / Export**.
- Under **Export Vault**, select your desired format (Markdown zip, structured JSON, or static HTML pages).
- Click **Export** to compile and download your entire vault archive.
