# Desktop PWA & Offline Installation

Install Basalt Notes as a desktop application using Progressive Web App (PWA) technology.

## Installing the PWA

1. Open Basalt Notes in your desktop browser (Chrome, Edge, or Brave).
2. Click the **Install App** icon in the browser address bar (or go to browser settings -> **Install Basalt Notes**).
3. Confirm installation.
4. Basalt Notes will launch in a dedicated, sandboxed window with its own desktop shortcut.

## Offline Capabilities

- **Offline-First:** The PWA caches all essential files on your device. You can open and edit your notes even without an internet connection.
- **Hardware Acceleration:** The PWA utilizes your device's local graphics and storage drivers for maximum performance.
