# Migration Wizard (Importing Notebooks)

Migrate your existing notes, files, and links from Evernote, Obsidian, standard Markdown, or HTML folders.

## Importing notes

1. Export your notebooks from your current editor:
   - **Obsidian:** Locate your local vault folder.
   - **Evernote:** Export your notebooks as `.enex` files.
   - **Other platforms:** Export a zip folder containing markdown or HTML files.
2. In Basalt, open the **Migration Wizard** under **Settings -> Migration**.
3. Drag and drop your exported files or folder directories into the import dropzone.
4. Verify the structure mapping, folder names, and attachment pathways.
5. Click **Run Migration**.
6. The migration importer translates links, frontmatter metadata, images, and folders into a standard local-first vault.
