# Kindle Highlights Import

Import your highlights and annotations directly from Amazon Kindle clipping files into your markdown vault.

## Importing Highlights

1. Connect your Kindle reader to your computer via USB, or locate your downloaded Kindle clipping file (`My Clippings.txt`).
2. In Basalt, go to **Settings -> Import / Export**.
3. Under the **Kindle Import** section, click **Upload Clippings File** and select your file.
4. Review the parsed books list, highlight snippets, and metadata.
5. Click **Import Selected Books**.
6. Basalt generates a structured markdown note for each book in your vault, listing all highlights grouped by location and creation date.
