# Inbound Email Note Capture

Capture ideas, articles, and attachments directly into your vault by sending an email.

## Setup Your Inbound Address

1. Navigate to the **Settings** page in the application.
2. Locate the **Inbound Capture** section.
3. Click **Generate Address** to create your unique inbound email address (e.g., `inbox-xyz@capture.basaltnotes.com`).
4. Save this address to your contacts for easy access.

## Capturing Notes

- Send an email to your unique inbound address.
- The email subject will become the note title.
- The email body will be converted into clean markdown.
- Any attachments will be processed and appended to the note.

## Rotating Your Address

If your inbound address is shared or compromised, you can rotate it under **Settings -> Inbound Capture -> Rotate Address** to generate a new key.
