# Editor Keymaps & Focus Mode

Configure keyboard mappings, clean writing spaces, and slash commands inside the Basalt editor.

## Custom Keymaps

Customize the editor to match your muscle memory. Go to **Settings -> Editor Settings** and select your keymap style:
- **Vim Mode:** Full keyboard modal navigation, command operations, and keystroke mappings.
- **Emacs Mode:** Keyboard chord shortcuts and command operations.
- **Sublime Mode:** Standard editing shortcuts and multi-cursor selections.

## Focus Mode

Hide distracting toolbars and sidebars to concentrate on your writing:
- Press `F11` (or click **Focus Mode** in the editor status bar).
- This fades out all distraction columns, centering your text in a clean writing canvas.

## Slash Commands

Press `/` on a new line to access formatting templates, media embeds, daily templates, or search controls instantly.
